Dear sirs,
I have been looking in the Keighley News today and found an
advertisement for your steam train running a Mince Pie Special between Boxing
day and 3rd January. This does look exciting with a complimentary mince pie,
real ale buffet car, trains and stations decrated and the seasonal Tableaux. Not
that I know what a Tableaux is but would guess it's some kind of French table,
is that correct?
Unfortunately I have very unkind working hours
throughout the dates this train is running and could only make the Boxing Day
one which leaves Keighley at 5.45pm. Even then I would not be in time. I see
the train stops at Ingrow at 5.51pm is this correct? I would ask that you
either hold the train there for a further 30 minutes for me whilst I get changed
after work and meet you there at about 6.15pm. Otherwise you could stop in
between stations just near Hermit Hole so that I can quickly jump off and pop in
home to get my clean clothes on.
I can assure you I will drink gallons
in your real ale buffet car to make up for it and even buy the driver a pint if
he is allowed on. Is there a drink drive legal limit for a train driver? I
suppose it's unlikely he'll be pulled by a police train isn't it? In that case,
if I was a train driver I'd get hammered every day. Have you got and train
driver vacancies? I'd be very good and rarely stray off the
tracks.
Anyway, If you could get back to me please to let me know the
new times you propose for the boxing day 5.45pm train to Oxenhope I would be
grateful.
Thank you.
